Having Great People is not Enough

Historically, few, very few, organizational change efforts last. Even with the best intentions, such efforts fail to achieve sustainability.  Why is this?  We assert that it's due to the failure of the organization design - not the people.  What is missing is an understanding of what it takes to sustain something which has no history to draw from. So, to make your powerful vision sustainable, you need a new approach.

Releasing the Power of Organisation with New Technology

The new technology of Leadership & Management is the key to releasing the power of organisation and it has nothing to do with personal transformation. Our new book reveals the necessary elements to make organisational transformation possible.  We call this approach ‘Organisation Design 2.0’ because the 1.0 version that has been tried before only acted on individuals and not the organisation.

The purpose of organisation design is to manage the flow of information and knowledge - not people

The new technology for leadership and management provides a platform for managing information.

Managing people creates conflict, managing information creates dialogue.

Organisational design as we describe it is about the design of communication that coordinates action and leads to exponential growth in service of a specific purpose. Not the thing, but the activity of coordination of action. We call this Organisation Design 2.0.

Creating the conditions for a new way of working.

The elements of organisation design that influence the emergence of the physical organisation are platform, social contract, champion and organisation. These four elements interact continuously and influence the emerging results, positive human connection, culture, clean leadership and MicroTeams™.

Suppose these four elements are not explicit in your organisation. In that case, the resulting conditions that emerge through the process of natural emergence, where the loudest, forceful, most persistent influences will dominate, may not be the ones you want.

Unless you start with the four fundamental elements of organisation design, it is almost impossible to change the outcome in any significant or lasting way.

Together Michael McMaster and Adrian Brown have combined over 70 years of business experience both in running organisations and consulting to them. They have seen the challenges of changing organisations close up and succeed where others have failed. Their success is based on a truly innovative and well-tested approach.

In our new book, the first of a series for Bite-Sized Books, we will give you the tools that you need to use the power of organisation to succeed with the changes you want to make for your organisation.

If you want to make a start at changing the conditions in your organisation so that a new desired culture can emerge, then our new book will give you a framework that works for small organisations up to large ones. New beginnings need new thinking, behaviour and action.

When the conditions are favourable you witness the Natural Law of People at work, because everyone is focused on participating, contributing, appreciating and making a difference.

Your breakthroughs will be based on new structures and practices. The effectiveness of organisation transformation will be dependent on your ability to transform the design of organisation.
